Angry Saddened

Never thought I'd post something on this forum where I've been saddened & upset by another member taking advantage but, here we go
A few weeks ago, a new member was asking for a dvbtv unit for his d/din in his car. I had one, with aerial etc from a few years ago, which worked very well with my d/din, & also with my indoor tv. So, I said I'd post it to him, foc, & he could try it to see if it worked, if it did, he could send me a tenner to cover postage & cost of the unit, bearing in mind these digital tv things cost over £30 Since then, & after a pm asking if it worked or not, nothing even after he'd sent me a pm admiring the gentlemanly way I conducted business
Obviously not reciprocal
Not, I hasten to add, my experience of the majority of the members here, but, just a wake up call to some
I shall now choose very carefully who I do business with

Hi Ronnie. I am afraid that there may be an excuse for not replying to let you know how he had got on with the item you sent him. Did you check before sending him the item, how many posts he had posted.? I have always liked to think I can judge people from afar, but I always like to give ME the benefit of the doubt. I hope if he still comes on line here that it might jog his memory if he see’s these posts. It would be nice to restore your faith in human nature, just don’t hold your breath, and take comfort that not everyone is a bit selfish.

Sorry to read this Ronnie.
Like you say, it is only the small minority but, even so, not good at all.

Hope you can resolve the matter.

I sorry you feel let down, due to the amount of information you've provided is not hard to figure out who this is, perhaps you should reconsider this post and the ramifications of it unless it was your intended purpose to 'shame' this user.

I've sent him a pm David asking if all was well, no reply I will not let this one experience cloud my judgement of the usual membership here, of which I have the utmost respect trust.

Not my intention to shame anyone Just an observation of my own experience & to let people know the pitfalls of dealing with some members

I am a firm believer in the "name & shame" approach IF the offending member has been given a chance to make good on their commitment and failed to do so. If there is a legitimate reason for not paying, let people know.

Honesty still counts.

Cheers,
Glenn
