I think it was a lower limit. No emission plate on mine either. 1.5 on paperwork

I'd still be interested to know what your plate says? mine went through with a .6 reading and the tester stated a 1.5 limit on mine but as it has no level shown on the plate it should have been tested to 3.0 but not an issue with mine... I wonder if your Synergy box made the difference?

Edit...

Just seen your new post ... Well if yours also shows no level they should test it to 3.0 as far as i understand the new regs... Might be worth bearing in mind for next year if yours is close to the limit

Up thread, or maybe on the other MOT thread, I mentioned my 75 diesel had managed an easy pass at a measure 0.06. This was on a brand new Bosch emissions tester, using the OBD socket and a second brand new Bosch wireless unit to supply data back to the unit doing the emissions recording.

I have just dug out my previous years annual emissions test documents.

Each year the maximum allowed as marked on the documents, was 1.50. I have not checked the value on the plate. It is a 2004 CDti, with the 160 an EGR bypass fitted and cleaned out intake, replaced intercooler pipe, serviceable air filter, cleaned PVC. First column Zero Drift, Second column Opacity Mean Value

May 2017 0.12; 0.10\
May 2016 0.00; 0.13 All as tested with a OPA-100 Analyser.
May 2015 0.00; 0.52/

This year on the above mentioned new Bosch emissions unit
May 2018 0.01; 0.06 (See the photo below, of the document)

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Just my 10 pence worth.
I will speak to our MOT tester at work. He usually has an opinion on most things and I’ll see how many cars he has failed.
My Streetwise TD has 1.55 on the B pillar plate. I’m not worried except my EML periodically comes up on the dash but there is no difference with the cars performance.

My project 190 is going in for MOT tomorrow having been off the road for 4 years. I expect it will probably fail, but hopefully the repairs will be minimal.

My CDT passed today. No issues, just an advisory on a small crack in the windscreen which I knew about.

It is not only DPF cars that are affected.
Check out my post no 81 on this thread, I have set out the criteria for the earlier diesels.

I have just got around to checking my plate and it shows 1.00 - printed in black, rather than stamped/embossed into the metal. The permitted maximum value used, appears to have been 1.5 in my MOT (see above). The tester never checked the plate, yet seems to have assumed 1.5 as the maximum, or seeing my exhaust was so clean he thought the max was of no concern what ever value he chose as the max..
