Pre Production Carpet

Hello!

My Lhd Pre Production 75 rolled out from the Cowley plant 12 November 1998. I had a inspection done in oktober last year to examine the plenums and sunroof drains to make sure there was no leeks. I also made a check under the carpet to see if there was any damp or water on the floor!
I found some small labels in the rear end of the carpet.
It reads: HP Chemie Pelzer (manufactor) EAC 103031 HEE Carpet Green 14.9.98. See enclosed photo.

A early date indeed! Does anyone have more information regarding when the suppliers to the Cowley plant started to produce parts to the early 75:s?
Owner of such a 75 - have you also checked your labels?

I have a very early HK subwoofer dated June 1998 - but not the car it came from sadly (probably scrapped).

I decided some time ago to replace the handbrake gaitor (Neptune Blue) from my launch car, as it had some tear at the base. My launch car came off the production line on May 8th 1999...but the original gaitor has a manufacturing date of June 1998 !
Decided to keep that part ;-)

Cheating a bit but same principle-from the inside of my classic cars doorcard-
21 oct 1971 sorry but can't seem to post a photo,,where's the url of my image?-
On my old w redg' 75 The rear of the ''wood'' dash was '99' stamped,which has been transferred to my last 75 and now my current one.
