........... On Redfive when turning left or right. Only started today. Car drives and stops ok. Checked power steering fluid, no loss that I can see.
Any ideas?

Do the noises happen only when turning the steering wheel or is it when the car is moving through a left or right turn? Is there any notchy feeling or clicking/pinging when turning the steering wheel? Cheers, Glenn

Redfive had new genuine struts fitted in 2011 at 85k but of course it's done a lot of miles since and no doubt the lowered springs fitted at the same time will have taken their toll on the strut tops.

Bottom balljoint will do that - have a listen with someone else turning the wheel.

Or a slightly loose drive belt. If you have the aircon running and turn the wheel quite a way (manoeuvring) the belt can slip a little which causes a noise
