Default Headlight bulbs

Just changed the O/S headlight bulb on my facelift 75. Ye Gods! Who designs these things? Not as bad as on an X type Jaguar I must admit. Imagine having to do it in the rain on the side of the road? I always thought that all auto bulbs had to be easily changeable?
I don't know about in the UK but in most of continental Europe you have to carry a spare bulb kit. What for? I can see the reason for carrying tail light or brake light bulbs but headlights? I can just imagine taking the bumper off an X type jaguar at the side of the road to change a bulb as Mr Plod has pulled you over.

Agree this is daft, it seems to be a growing trend. As for tail lights, my last two cars (Audi A3 and ZT-T) both need the light unit removing to do a simple single bulb change - madness.
