Expired domains taken over by Japanese sites

We're looking to go away to The Broads later in the year, and considering hiring a motor cruiser. We also thought about taking the caravan, staying in a CL and hiring a day boat

We found a place called Gale Riverside, which has a site, and also a link to "boat hire".

Gale Riverside site is here: http://www.galeriverside.co.uk

The link to boat hire is for www.maffett-cruisers.com, but on clicking the link, comes up with Japanese, and looks to be advertising herbal supplements!

A quick Google suggests that Japanese companies buy up expired domains, as they have existing links (as above). My worry is that the latter site may carry a virus...

Anyone know any way to check if it's clean or not?
