Default KV6 Cambelt service interval?

My car 2.5 has done 57,000 miles, with a fully stamped main dealer Rover service history. But there's no reference to any cambelt(s) being changed, so can I assume these have been done as a matter or course on an earlier service? What is the official Rover line on when they should be done?

What year is your car, never assume, it is an expensive job and the customer may have chosen not to have them done. What I'd do is ring the garages that have serviced it and ask for clarification.

They should be changed every 6 years or 90,000 miles - whichever is sooner.

Cambelts are not a service item. Judging by the age of your car and mileage, if you cannot prove they have been done then they should be changed soon. The belts have a working life of 6 years or 90,000 miles whichever is sooner.

if you put your location against your profile someone who lives near you may be able to help with a local alternative.
