Angry Front end 'thunking' noise

2004 Contemporary SE HiLine saloon 2.5 manual
I'm sure it's something to do with engine mounts (and I've read here that there are 3). There is a dull 'thunk' coming from the engine compartment (in the area sounding like the lower centre/O/S, beyond the bulkhead), happens especially when changing from 1st to 2nd gear - if I take particular care with feeding-in the clutch it's generally not present.
I've asked the question here recently but I'm damned if I can now find the correspondence with a member so help please.
If it is the lower mount (N/S gearbox?, KKH101385) that is the likely culprit I've read that a modified/improved version is available (being/been tested here by one of our experts) from China, if so where can I get hold of one PDQ?
If it's something else then am I perhaps looking for the upper N/S hydra bush+ snubbers (KKU106483 +KKD100671)?
I don't have unlimited funds/time/resources but I probably need to get this sorted soon

Hello there,
I have brand new OEM mounts as fitted to the MG7 in China - here they are:
V6 Lower Engine Mount
It's worthy of note they're still on the way to me, however should be here in the next few days.

I take it that what you are awaiting delivery is the 'improved' product and from my description you are confirming it is what you think is the problem (I'm not asking you for a guarantee diagnosis, just a fair comment...).
Noted you're away soon so I'll order on your response - and thanks for the help.

The best way to find if that's the issue is to have a look - there shouldn't be any cracks or tears in the rubber part of the bush.
Thumping when changing gear is usually these bushes, however.
I'm still here for another week and a half, and they should be here well before I leave.

one of these recently fitted to my ZTT 190; very good! Bit of a squeeze getting the longer bolt out passed the sensor and exhaust but achieved without dismembering the car!
