Day Trip to LLandudno for Chair Lift
I know several Members on Bank Holidays bring the Family across to the North Wales Coast to LLandudno.
One of the Normal "Attractions" is the Chairlift traveling over the over the Headlands of the Great Orme. Unfortunately due to someone falling out (im afraid the 70' dropped killed them) it is closed for rest of Easter whilst Police and Health and Safety investigate. The Police have stated that the Chairlift was not at fault and not treating event as Suspicious. All other things on Great Orme and Ski Slope are still running though. |

Also of course the Cable Tramway still runs to the Summit after a complete refurbishment over last few years. New Halfway station etc. but still using original Trams. Lift now should hopefully be open for Easter Monday according to owners. |

The Copper Mine near the top of the Orme used to use the Vintage coaches
A visit to these mines is well worth it to anyone visiting Llanduddno. They have found bronze age tools etc in the tunnels. Loads of history from 100's of years BC. This attraction is stunning. Don't know if MD Tony Hammond still runs the site, but he and his Archaeologist Frank reckoned the tunnels go right through the orme and more digging goes on every winter, so the tour just gets bigger and bigger every year. |
