Fire Damage :(
So yesterday my dads 75 was parked next to a Peugeot which caught fire due to a severe electrical fault - what are the odds?! Thankfully no one was in the cars at the time, and the fire brigade arrived within 4 minutes!
The insurance company want him to claim, they have provisionally told him it will be a write off and that he can expect about £300 (after the excess) so we have decided to repair the car ourselves. The damage is only cosmetic and we are looking for the following parts if anyone happens to know of a car that is being broken. The car is a MK2 Tourer in Royal Blue JFM. Windscreen trim Drivers side wing Drivers door + mirror Front Bumper (MK2) Bonnet (not essential) |

why not claim? Your insurance company are now aware the car has been involved in an incident. It is also a non fault and money should come from other insurance

Also your dad should claim directly off the Peugeot's insurance, not via his own insurance. |

Unfortunately, because the fire was caused by an electrical fault the owner isn't to blame. Sadly, even if we did claim the car would be written off and replacing it with the £300/400 just isn't possible.

Its true, I know a mk2 Cavalier owner with a rare estate and it was written off for a dented door! The only way to stop it was not claim and repair himself.
