I'll pop the link up for the Youtube videos from Wednesday on here.

Nothing special as the weather was not great so just done videos and never bothered taking any photos
Jeff,

I am surprised that the moorings needed redoing. I was there last October and they looked OK then (mind you anything looks good compared to the standard that the EA achieve on the Gt Ouse).

Next time you are passing that way could you do me a favour please? There is a bench at the entrance in memory of my Dad (it has a sign on it "popoff's sanctuary" - his grandkids nickname for him!). Could you see if it is still there and not been taken away in the works that have been done.

Will enjoy the extra videos later!

Thanks, Mike

And I thought they were just for fending off out of control hire boats!! You will be fitting a dashcam to the boat hook next! (Or maybe you already have)

Hi Mike,

Haven't got that far down the Bure since we last spoke but I will next time I'm at the New Inn.

Copied this from one of the Facebook Broads boating pages btw.....

' B.A. have confirmed the original moorings were 150m and the new moorings are 40m. They had restrictions on what they able to do due to the lease terms with the land owner. However, since 2005, 1600m of new or renewed moorings have been undertaken. The moorings at Cockshoot Broad are a good recent example of the plus side. Okay, they are not new, but they have been totally replaced with new timbers and foot path. There is also an excellent boardwalk through the nature reserve and to a large hide for bird lovers. I would like to thank the B.A. for replying to my email and for the excellent work that they do in sometime very difficult circumstances.'

Hi Jeff

Thanks for the info - I have walked along that boardwalk many times! Absolutely no rush to check the seat, whenever you are passing that way is fine.

I managed to get down to the boat myself last week. Picture is on the Old West River, which connects the River Cam/Ely Ouse to the Great Ouse. It used to be the main river before the fen drainage works diverted the main flow of the Ouse direct to Kings Lynn.
