Angry Sunroof front drains continued.....

I've still not completed this job "due to the weather" and have had problems getting to the sunroof drain drivers side. Hopefully once I have got the 3rd screw out of the OBD tray it will be much easier accessing the outlet pipe above the accelerator pedal.

My son is a plumber and he has got me thinking about Trikeys solution using CT silicone sealant (from Toolstation) that he uses for shower trays- can be used in wet or dry areas. I was wondering about using a length of pipe, as Trikey suggests. Question to Trikey: What are the exact dimensions of the pipe you chose. Internal and external diameters plus the length of the pipe used on each side. How did you get the old pipe out? The Rover is currently on blocks at the front so that water drains to the rear sunroof drains. Front drains have been temporarily blocked up , since the car is saturated inside. Makes me feel like calling it a day!

I have just sent you a PM, but if anyone wants the pipe size, it's 10mm outer diameter PU pipe, with an inside diameter of 6.5mm.

I was unsure of the pipe diameters when I did mime, so I cut-up a couple of those plastic nozzles which come with silicone sealant (and similar gunk in tubes). The tapered shape enabled me to get a nice snug connection, and I also applied plenty of silicone. Been fine for a couple of years.

Most important bit is to chop off the duck bills behind the wheel arches (where the pipes exit). Arctic's pictures make this very clear.
