Default Key fob reqd

My spare key fob has finally lost it's buttons so I am looking to replace the case. I am aware that a lot of the ones on Ebay are complete tat. Would be nice to find an original with the rover logo on but not over hopeful of that without paying a ridiculous price.
Anybody have one to sell or could advise of a product that is actually fit for purpose?

Cheers
D...

Hi Dave,

It's a minefield.

Would you believe I've had one with the triangular tips missing from the PCB clips making it completely useless (the seller tried to avoid refunding me but eBay overruled them).

The operating boss on the reverse of the buttons was too tall on another so that (1) the PCB couldn't be secured under the clips and (2) with the back cover attached the microswitches were permanently pressed! The seller refunded me claiming that he'd never before had a problem.

All of them seem to have had the platforms and shoulders removed from the transponder box so Blu Tack has to be used to stop it falling out.

The finish on the exterior is always very good, it's the changes and roughness on the inside that's the problem. There's an opportunity here for DMGRS. I'm sure we'd all be happy to pay more than £5 for a high quality copy.

Simon

If it's any use, I just replaced both key fob covers with this ebay item, I bought one first of all as I'd read the poor reviews of some of them but it all worked perfectly so I bought a second and again, no issues, they both work as they should.

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for the recommendation. How long ago did you buy them please? Did you modify them in any way? Unfortunately there are no photographs of the inside.

I found scrapyards to be a good source of key fobs.
They usualy have a box they throw all the keys in from their scrapped vehicles.
So you should find plenty of R75's there.
They will let you have a rumage through their box.
After all it's the season of good will.
Kev.
