Default Connecting x2 headphones to Samsung TV

Hello,

Please help! - This is for Christmas!

I often watch TV with my Bluetooth headphones connected to the television, if it's late at night, but I really want to be able to connect two sets.

I have a Samsung Q85R TV and having spoken to Currys, they say that it's just not possible to connect two sets of headphones, even with an adaptor. Is this true?

Assuming it's false, can someone tell me what adaptor I need to buy and does anyone have any experience with one?
I've sent an email to a company called Avantree to ask what they could suggest.

Thank you!

Unfortunately they are right and Samsung tv's will only connect to one bluetooth device. You will need to get a bluetooth transmitter which will support more than one device simultaneously something like the below will do the job as long as your optical port from the tv is unused but bear in mind any of these devices can cause lip synch issues which you may or may not be able to adjust out using the tv's own settings. You will also have to ensure your tv's output to the optical port is set as PCM as most of these devices will not support Dolby Digital.

Thank you for your reply.

They said that I wouldn't be able to even use one of these adapters, but handy to know that's not the case.

The lip sync thing worries me. I'd rather not get one if that's going to be an issue.

It's such a pain, we live in a terrace house and we are constantly having to adjust the TV volume so we don't disturb the neighbours. Headphones seemed like a good solution.

Another option would be Sennheiser wireless headphones that you can purchase a 2nd headset for as it does support two pairs simultaneously.
These also have an optical input so you can plug directly into your Tv. As they are RF wireless they don't tend to suffer from the same latency issues you can get with Blutooth.

I have just checked and they have 12 pairs of the RS175 currently in stock but the extra headphones (HDR175) are a special order item and these come in at £129.95 ea but obviously no promises before Xmas!

Hama have two adapters that can take a 3.5mm audio out and send it to two Bluetooth devices at the same time.

The 2nd link can also be used as a receiver.

If my memory serves me correctly I don't think the Q85 comes with a headphone jack unfortunately.

Thanks very much guys.

The Q85R comes with a box that communicates with the TV with one tiny little cable. I think all the connectors are in that. I'd need to pull it all out to see what it's got.

With the Richer sounds option, that would be £360 all in? I guess I can't use the Sony headphones I already have?
It is an option, but a little more expensive than I was hoping for. I'll probably have to wait until after Christmas before investing in that.

It's called a "one connect" box and once again if memory serves me it has four HDMIs, three USBs, optical, aerial and ethernet, btw the tiny cable is fibre optic so try not to bend it too much
