Fit the 93S56 EEprom from your original IPK into the replacement......job done.
A previously used IPK cannot be coded with either T4 or TOAF I'm afraid. Best of luck Brian |

Hi Brian,
Is that possible as well when you want to upgrade to a HighLine IPK? Or must the two IPK's be the same type?

If you are upgrading to a Highline, you can't just swap the 93S56 chip without altering it's programmed contents. If you are changing for the same type, that will be fine.

There should be a way... if you just can source used IPK's, there must be a way to do it... maybe just need to update VIN and mileage?

Its much more complex than that. The mileage alone is encoded and changes every time you turn the key.

IPK is easy to read and modify, you can read the chip with some tool like XPROG, OBD cable like INPA, or even digiprog. But I'm not sure how to update VIN. LCM is also easy to update. EWS I have no experience on that. |

Indeed, with the correct tools, you can read, write and modify the contents of the 93S56 chip fitted to the IPK. But you cannot code it with TOAF. You cannot even code a used IPK with a T4, unless it is programmed to a virgin state, prior to connecting the T4 to the car.
