This thread reminds me of an old Andy Capp cartoon by Smyth. Andy was cycling home from a bender, and was obviously very drunk. He rode straight into the back of a parked car. He managed to find some paper, and wrote a note, which he placed under the windscreen wipers. The note said something like...
"Dear Sir (this was the 70s, so all motorists were men!!), I've just ridden my bike into your car, and caused some damage. The people watching me saw it happen, and they think I'm writing down my name and address. Well I'm not!" TC |

Reminds me of last summer.
Woman tried reverse parking. Scrapes up and down parked car with hers. Actually rubs her car backwards and forwards on the parked car beside hers whilst parking, seemingly oblivious to the damage she is causing. Causing multiple deep scratches to the other parked car and her own. Finally parks, gets out, looks at the damage she has wreaked, clucks her tongue and then gets back in her car and drives off without leaving a note. I kid you not... |

Got a call from the insurance company today the third parties insurance company has finally admitted liability a full 7 months after the incident so the car will be going in next week for the damage repaired.
Unbelieveable how these things drag out considering i had a witness and photo's of the incident clearly showing the third parties car parked next to mine including close up's of the damage to their car and mine. At least it's getting done though.

I once read a story in Readers Digest from someone who'd had their car scraped in a car park. They got back to find a note under their wipers:
"I have just crashed into your car. People are watching me write this. They think I am leaving you my name and address. I am not". Tickled me anyway, but perhaps not if I had been the victim. |

Stuff Asda, Tesco's, and the like with their tiny carparks. I know go to Lidi where it isn't that busy and take up two spaces without no hastle. Also my new smiley number plate was handing off due to useless double sided stickies, and someone took the time to write this down on paper and stick it in by door handle
Well done to the lady that waited for half an hour soapy

On one occasion I was guiding a friend back when she used the gas instead of the brake. My leg saved her mother's car and the vehicle behind it. Leg was okay; I calmly said "Errr, would you mind driving forward please? That's my leg..." Happy days!
