Morning everyone and welcome to the day. Last night we had a prolonged power cut, heavy rains, thunder and lightning. Today it’s hot and partly cloudy with 24-28C forecast for the rest of the week so can’t complain.

Not a good start here after attempting to download the free Norton antivirus package from BT to replace McAfee. Nooooo! My computer and phones are too old to work with this system. Grrrrrrrrrr! So tried to go back to McAfee but it wont let me back in because BT has upgraded me to Norton. Grrrrrrrr. So (hate it when folks start a sentence with "So", So........ deleted the Norton and the remnants of Mac and have loaded good old AVG and as you can see, I'm back up and running. That's two hours of my life that I won't get back. "It's all a big marketing exercise!" (my favourite saying just lately)

Keep on Rovering cos I can't!

Norton is notoriously heavy on system resources so you probably saved yourself by going with AVG tbh

The difference between the BT supplied package and the free AVG is that the latter is very much a lightweight stripped down security suite. BT pays for the package that it supplies as part of the Broadband services and the package is much more capable.

Also, BT does not upgrade anything. All it does is to offer you the opportunity use the suite it offers as part of the service, which happens to be Norton.

Was it the hardware or OS that was judged to be too old not to support the newer package?

Beautiful sunny afternoon here albeit only 3C, I've managed to mix up another wheelie bin full of horse manure & used compost ready for Spring which has kept me warm.

Loads of veggies so I'm making a big pan of vegetable soup, Smells bootiful if I say so meself.

Cool

Got back from diabetes eye screening to find that one of the two parcels expected had arrived, taken in by my neighbour Kelsey. It was the new MSD coil packs I had ordered from Rock Auto in the states. Not bad service only took 7 days.

So now the garage have them and we will see how quick they are in fitting them. ‘Cos up to now they have been exceptionally slow.

Have you been to the garage and viewed the V8 to make sure all is OK Bob as it sounds as if they are stalling for some reason maybe they have broken/damaged something. I've never laid hands on a ZTV8 engine but surely changing coil packs is a straight forward job. I hope I'm wrong but I'd be checking up..
Cheers

Been there, again, today to deliver the packs. They were not expecting me. But the Bear was up and running but I could hear the mis-fire. They had moved the Bear out of the workshop to make room for another car.

The issue I have with the garage is their lack of communication. Normally they are very good. Any new problems or issues they used to be straight on the phone to tell me. But since the Bear has been in this time the communication seems to have flown out of the window.

I had intended on removing the car out of the garage and getting it home today, and waiting on the coil packs being delivered and once they had arrived I would have asked Matt to fit them. I have given them till Saturday morning to get the car fixed otherwise I’ll be getting her home. If needed I may get the AA to tow her home for me.

The plan was for me to sell the Bear this year as I have had my fun. I’m not doing the mileage I used to do.
