Its not the social forum that's the problem, its those with an agenda who leap on the slightest possibility of bring politics into a thread. If you feel the need to discuss politics find a political forum. I couldn't give a toss what anyone's political views are as long as they don't try to ram them down my throat.

May I take my life in my hands?

First, an apology. My earlier post above was made without further reference to the closed post on prescription charges. Secondly, all this occurred while I was ‘out of it’ following an accident resulting in a fractured skull and broken neck – now at home and slowly recovering. So, seeing the developments and the closing of a thread I have re-read all of it.

For the life of me I cannot see any reason for the closing other than personal animosity at the totally reasonable arguments put forward with highly relevant facts. That was nothing to do with a subject change to the thread title and even less to do with the dreaded invasion of politics!

May I give the whole nine yards with the guarantee of non-biased non-political opinion? First, the naming of target posters, as well as the ‘others’ reference, is wholly wrong in this case (in my opinion). That was spite.

Second, it did not contain any reference to political matters in the accepted sense, rather differences in governmental perfectly reasonable events, which were democratically arrived at. I must leave it there, it is disgusting.

Think you are still suffering the after effects of your accident. Speedy recovery.

I'm very sad to hear this.

I've said it before and I've said it again, the social section in this forum is not needed.

We live in a time of so many many other forms of social media, the forum should be about the cars and very little else.

Why doesn't the forum setup a discord, or someone set one up. Nothing to worry about moderation wise and it doesn't reflect on the forum then.

That's what has killed more forums than I can remember over time.

You either moderate and stay aloof, or argue on a level footing.

Can't be an umpire and play the game.

Just not cricket.

As such I am today stepping down as a moderator.

I am not doing this because I have been asked to, nor that I have done anything wrong as I have not.

The club rules are perfectly clear.

I am stepping down as I no longer can be bothered having to read and moderate the biggoted, xenophobic right wing drivel being spouted by certain members. I have had a traumatic time health wise recently and thanks to these guys I get very little pleasure in this club any more - at a time when really I need it.
Life is more important than this.
Thank you for your hard work and sorry to see you go. I hope you stay on as a member, then you can skip over the rubbish and drivel, and post on the threads you want to.

I use the social forum to post up about other vehicles, most of us have a love of classics and it's the place to mention them as the main board is for the 75/ZT. I like the fact I can engage with members about my other cars, it's a separate side to my vehicle ownership.
