MG ZT-T 2004 cdti parking aid sensor retrofit
Hi All
I've done a few searches but can't find exactly the help I was looking for. There's no parking aid on the car. Is it simply a case of buying a secondhand kit off Ebay (or better still traders on this forum) and hooking up to stuff probably already in the loom? Or is it more complicated than that? I haven't looked in the Haynes book at this yet. Or would I be better off fit one of these - https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/mg/mg-...arking-sensors I could take a look at the set up on the 75 Connie 2004 but I plan to pay someone else to work on the MG while I do the bushes / suspension linkages on the 75. Have a look behind the rh side panel in the boot, see if there is a black connector kicking about, if so you have the wiring in place for the oem sensors.
If not, an aftermarket can be fitted easily

Aftermarket parking aids are less hassle and more reliable I've found and cost wise cheaper.

Thanks, that's a help. There's a Kenwood unit in that RT rear space. I don't know if it works as there's an aftermarket head unit in place. The steering wheel controls don't work with that and I'll do something about it.
Back on topic, I see there are cheaper aftermarket sensor kits but fa died the Valeo on (above) as it falls in with the Roveruse of Valeo products. JohnnyBG |

I've got Cisbo parking sensors from eBay on my 75, they work a treat. For about £20 there's nothing to lose, easy to install, simple instructions, obviously it's a rear bumper off job, drill appropriate holes in the bumper, hole saw is provided in the kit. The correct position is marked inside the bumper I believe, I already had the original set up, so it was a straightforward job

as far as I can recall they are plug and play.
I think there is an "ECU" and bracket also required. macafee2 |

The set up on my 75 has been faultless for the 100k+ I've covered in it. It was this that made me think I'd try for a secondhand setup for the ZT-T or get the Valeo kit.
The Cisbo is a lot cheaper at £20 rather than £56 for the Valeo but the latter looks like it is all there, every mortal part. I'll do some exploration tomorrow as was busy setting up a new College course for my youngest (19yo) today. Thanks for the pointers. JohnnyBG Last edited by JohnnyBG; 23rd June 2021 at 18:47..
