Default Autobox Gear changes

Thought I'd create a new post to see if I can get anymore feedback

On my V6 I had a noticable jerk when accelerating hard and autobox changing between 2nd and 3rd I believe (on smooth acceleration this was not evident) so I changed the teardrop mount 2 years ago but the issue did not seem to get resolved.

So last year I got Lates to fit a new hydramount unfortunately this didn't fit as it was too long I was told and they fitted a used one kicking around that was better then mine but of another car. I also had the 2/4 duty soleniod changed. Now this did help a bit so I don't feel the ackward jolt when accelerating but still the box was not smooth under hard acceleration. I have another new hydromount to fit in a few weeks time but wonder if any other mounts need changing?
I would also say I notice a jolt when braking and I feel the autobox changing down to match the engine speed.

Anybody had a similar experience, it spoils what is a nice ride in my V6. All assistance gratefully recieved.

The obvious next question Stubie is: did you use N402 spec. fluid?

Thanks Stuart, it's good to get that out of the way!

I have two suggestions for you.
  1. How is your engine running? Automatic transmissions are very sensitive to engine tune so do check all the usual things.
  2. On my other car, also an auto, I had sudden very violent gear changes, usually in and out of 2nd. The fault code said power supply to speed sensor. I re-seated the multi-pin connector to the gearbox ECU and it's been fine ever since.

The moral is, don't assume that there's something wrong with the gearbox. You might like to try the gearbox connector. I think it's the barrel shaped one at the wing near the battery.

Also always worth checking the fluid level, the first sign I had of minor fluid loss (due to the pan rusting through) was changes becoming harsher - but not excessively so.
