Thanks, fortunately mine was just a sensor. Only 11 months old and 2714 miles of use.
I've advised the supplier and awaiting a response 🤔.

Well, for once Lady Luck smiled on me... brand new (old stock) powerfold on eBay for £90 delivered, so I threw the towel in (and a hammer or two) and bought it.

He has one left if anybody's interested

OK… going to make my final contribution to this thread, and post some (hopefully helpful) conclusions on the live thread attached to Trebor’s original guide. I fitted the new o/s mirror today, unfortunately breaking the chrome cover and slightly damaging the new mirror in the process, but otherwise OK I think...

I’ve also moved the motor from my existing o/s mirror to the n/s one – then the rain started, so had to stop without fitting it.

Thanks to everybody (especially Rob) for helpful comments, but there are a couple of pitfalls to be aware of if you attempt this job – posted in the other thread

My ABS now fixed, after 1 new rear sensor and 2 new rear wheel bearings, the powerfold motor issue now moves up the " to do " list once again

Impressive! Well, having broken the clips on my chrome "bullet", I discovered your other post about Rawlplugs, hot-welded a couple in, and... it worked

So thanks for that.

Things still aren't quite right - I swapped the good motor from my old o/s to the n/s (which had the knackered gears, the original reason for my embarking on this awesome foolishness), then fitted the complete brand new mirror to the o/s, and...

The n/s now only rotates in about 2/3 of the way, despite my checking it and believing it to perform correctly before bolting it to the car.

I'm tempted to leave it like that - I've already spent about 3 b***** weeks on it, and suffering from PTSD

Been doing mine for past few weeks, mine would only click but got a little movement when I loosened the torx screws, I found out the small gear I fitted to the motor was not on far enough and when I tightened the torx screws it pressed the gear tight against the lid so as to stop it moving, hope this helps and is worth checking....
