Really need some help now
Following on from my previous thread regarding my flat battery causing issues, I really need some advice on how to get it fixed.
So the driver seat would not move using the forward/backward up/down modules but each time I pressed one of the memory buttons it would move the chair and the recliner part back a bit and on trying to check said module today I have got into a position where the seat is way far back and the recliner almost horizontal and car not driveable which it was before I started playing around. So I reckon my seat module has gone kaput and I will need to source a replacement, however how the heck am i going to get it off and the replacement in place if I cant move the seat (at the moment I can get at the front bolts but not the back ones) Anyone had a similar issue and can enlighten me. Oh and does anyone have a drivers seat module for sale. Stubs Last edited by STUBIE; 14th November 2020 at 23:55.. |

I would check the knobs.
They are easy to break, so maybe that is your fault? It seems as if your motor(s) work, so it should just be a matter of getting power to them. I would inspect the buttons on the side of the seat base closely.

The forwards/backwards motor connector has 2 pins with wiring colours white/yellow and yellow/white. Is it possible to disconnect this and supply the motor directly? Take care though, there will be a spark. Simon PS I'll be surprised if your seat memory ECU is faulty. I'd recommend that you carry out the "self test" sequence before condemning it.

Pull the cables out of the front motor then wind them manually, this will allow the seat to move.
takes a while, and do each side equally.

Using the method of removing the cables from the front motor I managed to edge the seat forward to allow me to unbolt the seat and the ability to get under it to find that the ECU has a hole in it and looks like a component has burnt out.

If it has burnt out, then before replacing it with a new one, the cause of the burn out needs to be located or you will find yourself in the same situation before long. If you have a multi meter then check the feed lines to see it there is power coming through both lines as there must be a short somewhere causing the unit to over heat and burn out.
