Default MG GS - discuss.

Hi guys, been considering going radical and buying a modern car as continual 75 repair costs are depressing me.
Has anyone bought the MG GS yet? If so what what do you think if it? I'm sure it's better the press would have us believe.

Had a look at both the GS and ZS at the recent East Kirby show. The GS looked a tad old fashioned compared to the ZS.

Not much difference in size and the ZS has a 1 litre turbo engine which puts out as much as the 1.5 in the GS.

I preferred the style of the ZS myself.

Stubs

When we went to collect the wifes ZS, I spent quite a bit of time looking at the GS, and it's a nice motor, but not as nice as the ZS, and looks quite 'old'.

I think that they are going to replace the GS shortly, so personally I would wait and see what the replacement is like.

I’ve driven both recently, they both drive well but the GS is a little dated and will be replaced by the HS next year The ZS 3 cylinder turbo auto was incredibly good to drive and build quality was good too.

I’ve driven the 1ltr turbo ZS an I was very impressed with it, fit and finish is very nice. One thing that did surprise me was just how big it is and the boot space is massive

Nothing, and I do mean nothing would persuade me to have a Chinese MG ever.

I still have images of the SAIC representatives sitting patiently waiting for the fire sale, rather than investing in MG Rover as was.

Three cylinder turbo dragging around a huge bloated ugly body, I'd rather take the bus thanks

Not really a fire sale as anything of importance was already signed over to Nanjing, bad business on the old owners not to realise what they had already sold. SAIC the current owners had nothing to do with what happened. The three cylinder turbo unit performs really well, as good as any built by Ford, Hyundai and Vauxhall etc, well maybe not Vauxhall as they use the MG unit. The 1 litre 3 cylinder turbo actually has 111 bhp which is one more than our 2.0 turbo diesel MINI so rather capable really. If anybody dislikes the cars that’s fine but please, have a go in one and see what they are really like and you might be surprised.

Had my GS since launch, Handles very well and you would not think it's only 1.5 litre engine.Plenty of room and very comfortable.
