Had my first photo featured on Flickr Explore

I'm well chuffed, especially as it was taken with my iPhone and not my 'proper' gear

I have a Flickr account and I upload my pictures to it but I don't really know how to use it as such to get the most from it. What is this explore thing?

Apparently there is an algorithm that is used to narrow 500 images a day from around 17,000 that meet Flickr's criteria .

There seems to be loads of sites dedicated to trying to find how to crack that criteria to get photos showcased on the 'Explore' page

Probably my first and last foray onto the page looking at the standard of work on there

It's a Flickr showcase page for the 500 most 'interesting' photos uploaded in any one 24 hour period apparently
