Default Retrofit rear sunblind on a mk2 contemporary se?

Hi guys finally got me car back on the road but just wondered if the electric rear sunblind can be retrofitted on a mk2 and would the connector be behind the switch panel where my heated seats and cruise control buttons are?
Thanks in advance 🙂

I retro-fitted an electric blind on my Mk2 ZT and the connectors were present behind the switch panel, so I would assume that these are fitted on all cars regardless of whether blind is fitted or not - presumably to make it easier if someone specified a blind as an extra as the car goes down the production line.

Fitting the shelf itself is not too bad a job to do, couple of hours work, just a bit fiddly and need to be careful removing and refitting the shelf.

Did this on mine too, everything was there, just as kelvo says, very fiddly, the rear shelf seems too wide to get out and back in again.

I too have fitted this in my Mk2 Contemporary SE diesel.
As others have said, everything is there.

If you don’t have the wiring, it’s an easy retrofit by running two wires to the front of the car.

Have a look above the ashtray to see if you have a green plug, with a bit of luck it will be wrapped up in some foam.

you need top remove one of the pillar trims to remove and fit a new parcel shelf.
be carful not to pull a wire of from heat rear screen.
getting shelf over centre seat belt can be very frustrating

Yep fitted one to mine as well. A 2004 CDTi SE I even cut out the opening in my grey shelf to fit mine as it came in a sandstone shelf.

Hey thanks for the reply guys 👍yeah mike trident I can see the cut out on my shelf too it's outlined which is good as it'll make it easier to cut 🙂 just gotta check for the green cable. Trikey with what you've said regarding the ashtray do you mean I could possibly see the green cable with out taking the switch panel off?
Thanks again everyone with your responses much appreciated 😉

Hi Steven can I ask what colour your dash trim was on your contemporary as my mine is I think ash black? And centre console is a dark colour rather than the lighter colour and looking at your car info on your message you mention you've put the genuine wood dash in yours and just wondered if it looks ok? Cheers
