Upper B pillar trim removal
The part where the seat belt disappears into the pillar.
Has anyone removed/replaced this? I must be missing something really obvious - because I can't see how it's possible to entirely remove same from the seat belt assembly, without dismantling the seat belt itself..? Cheers, Karl. |

The whole trim from floor to roof is attached together, I found it easier to remove it all at once. The slide that the belt goes through is removable once the large part is free from the car.

So only the slide part of the upper trim needs to stay in place? I noticed that the slide part is held in place (to the rest of the upper trim) with a couple of moulded lugs - did you just bend the slide trim enough that it popped straight out? Wouldn't like to break the thing, as getting another one back on the belt looks like it'd be a PITA. Cheers, Karl. |

Removed obviously On its way back in. The small lug you can see at the bottom has to be GENTLY forced back over the edge of the slide, I found it easiest to just bend the whole side of the trim outwards slightly. Just don't force it or like you say it will turn into a nightmare Hope that helps a bit.

I just tried Tony's method on my 2002 saloon and the slide cannot be separated from the liner.
The middle lug of the three can be freed but the other two can't (even by bending the liner to breaking point). Also, the belt will not go through the slot in the slide because the upper belt anchor has a big ,non-removable collar on it. The collar (or sleeve) allows the upper belt mount to swivel (the upper fixing bolt goes through this collar). |
