1.8T Struggling To Start and Light Load Stumble
Hi guys
Potentially 2 different problems but here goes... Last couple of days the 1.8T is struggling a bit to start... turns over fine, bit longer than usual, but needs a good amount of throttle to make it fire. It then rumbles and misfires a little (a second or less) until you release the throttle, then ticks over fine as usual (lumpy but always has been). Restarting when warm has no problems whatsoever. Fuel Filter? Also has a slight stumble around 2000 revs, usually pootling in traffic at 30ish, if you gently press the throttle you get a tiny sub-second hesitancy, then she's off. Driving hard you dont get this at all, only when being gentle. Aircon on/off makes no difference. Coil Pack? Last car i had did both these just before its eventual demise, cam position sensor fault caused by stretched camchain... and guess what Torque says i have in the 1.8T? Cam position sensor fault. But in it's defence it has had this supposed fault since i bought it and it hasnt been a problem (a few guys on here said to ignore it as probably inaccurate). So what to do? has been serviced inc. new decent plugs recently (0.7 gapped), plenums are clear, not using oil or water, fan works, etc. Had new cambelt a year ago (allegedly)

Check first for fuel filter separation I'd say.
