Cool

Good morning from cloudy North London.

Homeward bound to Saltash today, just need to collect my two passengers from Enfield and we'll be off.

Not good news with dad he's deteriorating fast with organ failure now on top of everything else, they've asked us to make a decision in the unlikely event he comes around to resuscitate him. We told them no there wouldn't be any quality of life at all, Sad day yesterday.
Morning Ian sorry to here the news.Thoughts go with you .

So sorry to hear that Ian. It was a stroke that took my father, he never regained consciousness. His stroke was in the brain stem, had he survived I don't know how much of him would have been left.

So sorry to hear that news about your dad Ian - despite your sadness, I'm sure you've made the right decision.

We're currently waiting for the hospital to discharge my sister - who will be coming home with an incurable cancer, and lots of appointments for chemotherapy (which the consultant has openly said is a "delaying treatment"only). It is a fact that as we all age, more and more of our friends and relatives are struggling. All we can do is accept the inevitability of life - and remember the good times we all shared together.

Where there is life there is hope. Over the last five months we have left my mother's NHS bedside on many occasions expecting that we might be getting the news through the night that we all dread. But she is still with us despite a failing heart and 50% kidney function and ... etc., etc., etc.

Head up and keep on hoping for the best Ian.

No last minute heroic efforts from the ward staff to prolong your dads illness, is the right decision for you to make given his condition. Your dad is in the right place, where the nurses can do their best to make him comfortable and preserve his dignity.

Sorry to hear your worsening news about your Dad Ian.

The main thing is that he is in the right place to make sure he is comfortable and free of pain.

Thoughts with you and yours at this difficult time.

Thoughts with both Ian and Rod. Difficult times ahead for both of you, can relate to what you are experiencing right now.

After my parents passed away, within months I lost several Aunts and Uncles until I reached the point I simply couldn't go to another funeral, I didn't attend my Uncle Gerald's, I just couldn't handle another one.

My thoughts are with Ian and his family. My father hung on for two weeks in hospital without regaining consciousness, we went in every day to see him deteriorate a bit more. When he did go it was a relief but Ging and I didn't foresee the consequences of that with my mother.
