Noticed this morning the IPK led doesn't always stop the slow flashing when the car is unlocked.
But only tried it once this morning as CDTI going to work to check out the recent ABS prob, seems sorted . Back to the 1.8 .. Will try to get the pins out of the Bonnet switch plug just in case something going on in there (bit of straw clutching ) Is it worth pulling the Imobilizer unit to to have a looksee ? . we have no sunroof so shouldnt be getting wet in there. Chris

Did a test run this morning.. unlocked car, 2 secs later a Chirp from the sounder.
started car drove about 2 miles. alarm goes off. Stop up the road, and the alarm continues , it does 25 secs on 5 secs off and repeats add infinitum. Switch off press fob couple of times. alarm goes off . Start up and continue driving with no alarm. Come home ,out of car, lock up and all is quiet til the next startup don't know how long it needs to reset itself ? Anyone read anything from those toaf Screens ?.. Or just unplug/ try another sounder? ta Chris

Is the car fitted with a bbus?
If so, they can go faulty and cause strange issues It may be worth temporarily disconnecting it and see if the problems disappear. Russ

This was the inside of my non operational bbus prior to replacement. There were no previous tide marks in the plenum to suggest it was submerged at any point. Perhaps just corrosion inside it?

Touch various woody things ,
I'm hoping I've sorted it. Did a 10 mile test today and no alarm sound,

I took out the sounder , seemed the simplest way to stop the noise .
And being nosey took it apart to find this , Even tho' the unit has a rubber seal and was all dry inside.. the battery connector was goosed .. corroded pins and PCB. the damp had wicked right up the Neg wire onto the battery. So removed the whole connector cleaned it up and hard wired the battery direct to the PCB . plugged it back in, nearly blew my ears off . Switched off ok on the fob.. And the IPK's Diagnostic mode has returned . wierd ! Will see over this week if its sorted ??? Chris

Might not have been water damage. Just arcing from a poor connection could have caused that.-----
