Default opening windows bia the key

what is the correct method for opening the windows with the key?

The car was locked with the remote last night, this morning I opened the windows this morning with the key, this also involved I think just the drivers door unlocking.

Within 30 seconds the alarm was going off.

What else should I have done or is there a fault?

If lazy events are activated on T4 settings it works like this, put the key in the drivers door lock turn the key to the unlock position and hold it therefor a few seconds, then all the windows roll down. To do the windows up put the key back in the drivers lock turn to the lock position hold it there and watch as the windows are rolled back up.

I have found on some facelift models when you roll the windows down and then lock the car on the remote it triggers the alarm, On Mk1 models it seems ok

Thanks Mick, I have rolled the windows down as you say but my alarm goes off
only seconds later without the car being locked.

Try disalarming with fob first then putting the key in and then using the key to roll down the windows

Funny.. I tried this trick with my ZT190 yesterday , but it didn't work.
So I guess this feature is turned off?

I know my A6 had this feature and I used to use it alot.

Also, is there a setting to get it to work by holding down the lock and unlock buttons without even putting the key in?

Apparently it is a T4 option so need someone with T4 to enable it
