Cool We won another Trophy.......................

................................................ today at the open day at Trophy Cars in South Witham Lincolnshire.

Banana was originally booked to attend but as she is still in the paintshop, Redfive took on the role to attend. Too far for the Bear to go, the petrol stations had not been warned in advance.
So we set off at 05.40 this morning, once the frost was scraped off. A38-M5-M42-M69-A607 and the A46 were involved along with a few B roads. We finally arrived at Trophy Cars at 10.30. We did have a bladder stop at Hopwood services on the way. 272 miles covered.

A grand day with lots of MG's attending, mainly F/TF's but there was a few ZT's, old style ZS's and a couple of MG3's. Kevin Weeks, the boss at Trophy Cars laid on food and cakes for the visitors to tuck into. I was asked to take a few photo's, about 100.
And unknown to me there was trophies to be awarded.

A X reg MGF won best in class and Redfive won Best ZT in class. The Trophy was presented to me by Mrs Jan Austin. Well. I was well chuffed to receive the Trophy. I never go to shows or meets looking to get trophies or awards, but it's nice when you get them.

Then the trip home did not go to plan, the W1NCE unit in Redfive decided to shut down just as we got to Melton Mowbray. Oh! Bother, or words to that effect. But I followed my nose and headed back, took a few wrong turnings. Not only had the maps shut but the music as well. Still I know a few songs, some best not repeated on here.

But we finally found our way back to the M5 and I let Redfive clear the air in her lungs. Warp Factor 3 was soon showing.
We finally got home at 18.30 and covered less miles than this morning, 259 home. Work that one out.

A few photo's.

Congratulations Bob, well deserved. Did you eat all of the cakes and do you have to give the elaborate looking trophy back next year?

Well done Bob and Red Five.

Milage difference. I have clocked 83, 84, 85 , 87 and 89 miles between my house and Watford Gap services. All I can think is that when going round bends, being in the outer lane adds more miles than being in the inner lane. ie, the inside lane round right hand bends is further than the second overtaking lane, and the second overtaking lane is further than the inside lane on left hand bends.
Just a thought

Good theory, however in my defence I got lost after my sat nav shut down.

With regards to the WinCE unit, does it still power up? Try a reset Bob, or disconnect the battery for an hour.

Have a look on the website. I think the prices are a bit steep. He had a 52 plate ZR for nearly £4k. In the showroom there is a TF with only 1,400 miles on the clock and that is up for £12k.
