She’s gone!
I’m afraid after 10+ years as an owner I am now Rover-less.
Firstly I would like to thank all the wonderful people I have met here who have offered help, encouragement and support, I couldn’t have done it without you! Secondly, what next? I am currently driving my son’s Suzuki Wagon R+ but it’s not too good for a 90 mile commute. Need a diesel and looking for something a bit ‘out of the ordinary’. Currently considering Volvo S60 or Saab 9-3, any thoughts, experiences or suggestions? Thirdly, I will be selling some nice bits & pieces so keep an eye out! |

I, too, have been Roverless for over 2 years after 12 years with a 75. I still read the forums at least once a day as fascinating topics pop up.
I do get to see and ride in my old 75 regularly as it was passed on to my son in law. |

SAAB 9-3 is an Astra, get a 9-5 the last PROPER SAAB, I had an '07 9-5 Vector Sport last year, Brilliant car. I had a 9000 in 98 and a 200 Convertible in about '04. The convertible was an unusual one as it had a 2.5 V6.

SAAB 9-3 is only based on the same platform. That's about it. Motor management, suspension, drive, interior, experience are all very different from the Astra. I might even say you are a jellyfish because you share more than 90% of its DNA PS. The last 9-5 was the one that Victor (you know... the Dutch guy who tried to save SAAB) brought to market. If you mean the previous one I fear I have to tell you that it was based on the Vectra . I had a 9-5NG and it as brilliant.

I needed a diesel for the commute, looked at Saab, Volvo and Jag. The Saab diesel is a Fiat with cambelt, the Volvo is a Ford and the Jag is a Ford or Peug depending on which one.
The Rover is a BMW, no contest. |
