9 purchased, 7 supplied (2 kept for myself), 7 happy R75 owners. You could try ringing Aldi on 0800 0420800, option 4, (stock availability), and see if there are any stock locally. Certainly looks to be a nice bit of kit, water resistant, and at a keen price. Last edited by MarkS; 11th May 2020 at 07:24.. |

I also agree with you (with Ctek as a preferred choice). My Ctek 5.0 has been very reliable and is also waterproof. Just bought another on Black Friday. The internal software programme is probably the best out there at that price point and will optimally maintain a battery in any parked up car.

I got a ctek one as a free gift when I took out a magazine subscription some years ago. Works great. I'd like another one for my motorbike. Might pick up a lidl one at some stage.

That was a good 'free gift' for a mag. If I trip over a Lidl one though at £7.99 it'll be impossible to resist.

Brian.
You could try ringing Aldi on 0800 0420800, option 4, (stock availability), and see if there are any stock locally. At £7.99, it's a bargain, especially over winter. If anybody desperately wants one for £7.99 + delivery, message me. They'll be a few days delay, while once again, I fix a dead alternator (commutator burnt this time). And the battery. And the PAS pump leak. And the bottom engine mount. And all the front suspension bits, again. And then it's MOT time.... Maybe more than a few days.... Where's me bus pass ???? And FWIW, there are PLENTY of CTEK chargers in Lidl for £60. They don't seem to be selling so well, I wonder why.... Last edited by MarkS; 10th December 2020 at 20:31.. |

Auto Express appear to have conducted an in-depth survey of battery chargers.
A link is attached. There are half a dozen, or more, analyzed. Keep scrolling down, after the first 3, to find the rest. Regards Mike https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/produc...ttery-chargers

Maybe I'm just a bit suspicious but "...We (Autoexpress) went to CTEK’s Swedish R&D centre to find out..." and then, guess what, the CTEK won .
Having said that, from reputation and personal recommendation that's probably right. |
