Smile Mafam+Piersburg MAF settings

What is the ideal setting of the Mafam unit with a Piersburg Maf fitted and a TUb3 unit ( now called a Synergy 1) set to position 6.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
I have read Ron's instructions but there appears to be a contradiction in the recommended settings. Presently I have it turned to position approx. 1pm.

Anywhere from 1-3 o'clock. Keep turning it up until you stop noticing an improvement and turn back slightly.

where have people got MAFAM temp sensors?
and their MAFAMs fixed?
the temp sensor wire seems shorter than on Synergys!

Do you mean the sensor is actually inside rather than on the 12" long wiring tag with little bobble on end?

I've never heard of that before - is it an early one?
