check your local Facebook marketplace pages, gumtree etc although I imagine they've been lifted to weigh in, but with new tyres, they may go up for sale somewhere

If you have wheels stored off the car, invest in a good chain and padlock.
Thieves might be able to carry one wheel but not four chained together. Ken. |

Some members of the community that usually live in caravans seem to think anything made of metal that is not attached to anything is game. It is very useful if you have an old tumble drier or cooker to get rid of as they will cart it away for ''free'' if you leave it within eyeshot.
The problem is car parts removed seem to also fall into this category as a friend with a removed axle found out, these caravan dwellers must have popped in while he was at work and disposed of said axle for him even though he was going to refit it once the bushes and brake pipes had been replaced. It took him several months to find another. A large chain and a cover seems to work, I do both. I wish they would help them selves to some old oil, I have 3 x 25liter drums to get rid of, our local tip has started charging by the litre to dispose of this recently. No wonder fly tipping is on the increase. I took a trailer load of stuff to the tip and several of the items were chargeable, I ended up paying nearly £15 to dispose of it. |

They are robbing dirty scumbags and nothing else describes them!
As for the council tips, as you say fly tipping will just get worse and worse, I have the same problem with oil but have now started to decant it to smaller bottles and tie it into the bags with our household waste, 10 litres gone in the last few collections. Our local tip closes two days a week and doesn’t stay open late. These councillors think everyone works part time like they do. You can understand people paying a “rubbish removal company” £20 to get rid of a load and although you don’t want to think where they got rid of it the ultimate blame falls back to the council.
