I don't agree, a boggo Montego 1.3 isn't worth a lot but a Vanden plas is more desirable. It will be years before ours will be classics and one with leather and climate will be more desirable as it will be more comfortable to use as a daily runner than a car with no air con etc. the 75 is perceived as a luxury car so one that hasn't luxury items will be an odd ball as it is now.
How many members on here would sell their car for a Classic?

My 75 is exactly as it left the factory. I've added the seatbelt bolt covers to the ZTT and replaced the black mirror covers for chrome ones. I also got rid of the PVC sun visors for earlier fabric ones. Nothing major there, so otherwise original.

The VDO radio/cassette is ****, but I keep telling myself it has to stay to keep it original!

I've done quite a bit to my car over the years - but all Rover/MG stuff anyway. But I have kept all the stuff I have changed, so I could put it back to how it was when it was bought in a day!

So although I haven't kept it as per spec, it could be very easily!

I seriously doubt a bog standard, bottom of the range model of any car make will ever be sought after by anyone.

"Top of the range" or best you can afford is the way to go innit..

I think the lack of interest in Christopher's car proved the point.

The lack of development and work did IMO.

Yes imagine a 1998 S reg, 1.8 "classic" cameup for sale locally it would find a home on my driveway.

Mine is still as much standard as can be.

The only changes are a different set of alloys for the summer-tyres and the Accufab throttle body/plenum combo.

X-Powers where a factory option so don't count that and a K&N is just a replacement air filter.

Like to keep it as close to factory standard as I can

My son used to have a "Classic", not even an 'SE', no A/C, no Alloys etc... It only had 60 odd thousand miles on the clock when he bought it aswell! One owner FSH.

Here is a couple of pics from the ad before certain things were changed...

My Vauxhall Victor might just be the exception, it's the only base model left with the bench seat and rubber floor mat as it left the factory. I'm really glad I saved it now, it's got 48,000 on it and already making waves.

I'm pretty sure that one day any car that can't be driven by Google will be a classic
