both sidelights and some other things would not work if it were the fuse. no power to sidelight could also be the wiring

As CLF has kindly shown you take the bumper off and take the headlamp out and see if it has rubbed on the front chassis leg. My drivers Xenon on my old car was stuck shining in the trees as the motor wire had rubbed and broke on the leg.

incidentally, the wiring in my image, is the section of wiring directly below the headlight unit on the drivers side. it is not visible from above with the light unit fitted.

ok guys so i take it there is definatly no fuse for side lights,,so i will have a look underneath when it stops raining and start from there,,, just a thought can a live wire be run to the sidelight ??,,

Hi James.
As stated above remove the bumper or at least take out top bolts and top bolts inside the front wheel arches and you can then lower the bumper enough to remove the light and check the wiring on the chassis leg, even the smallest break in the wiring can and will cause trouble, few pics below for you

Might as well sort it properly James, or other things may start to breakdown if the wiring continues to chafe away.

thanks to artic and mike,,never took a bumper of before but i will give it a go..as i have looked after this car since owned last 2 years,,
