I was told I would be bored silly when I decided to throw the towel in at 62 years of age. What will you find to do? I was asked. Well, let me tell you. I have not been bored one little bit for the last 15 years. In fact, I could do with a 48 hour day.Best of luck in your retirement. Boredom is a state of mind, not a diesease you will suffer from I am sure. Just get all your jobs done before you get your freedom. You won't have time for anything when you have your freedom.

Me too, but remember it will take a while to adjust to the new found time freedom. It took me a couple of years, to get properly used to the wind down, to getting the idea into my head that I didn't have to get up until I felt like it and no need to plan ahead - I could change my plans as and when it suited >ME, rather than fitting in with working needs. Take holidays when it suits, go shopping when it suits etc..

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I took early retirement ( it was that or redundancy) a few years ago. I got so bored that I bought a Rover 75!

Enjoy!

I still do a part time job to fund the project.

2 years after taking medical retirement from the NHS, I went back to work in forensics in Hackney for 8 years before calling it a day.... but it didn't stop. Went to Africa. You know the story there Stu, I got into building - something completely different from what I was qualified in.

Keep physically active and keep yourself fit. If you have a dream, make it happen

Best wishes for your retirement.

After working for others for all these years, now is the time for yourself. You can enjoy life knowing you don't have to deal with nonsense at work and spend time doing the things that enrich your life such as enjoying your hobbies.

I know you well enough to know you won't be bored.

I envy you and look forward to the day I can pack it in too!

Congratulations on your retirement Stu, hope you really enjoy it. Even more time to use that 'oily rag'.
