Default Sky box

My father has sky and he's agreed to record the new series of Twin Peaks for me. (I'm too cheap to pay for Sky!). i know its the kind of show he'd hate so rather than force him to watch it with me, is there any way to transfer the show to (for instance) a usb drive?
Cheers
Jim

in short ....

Nope... USB very difficult if not impossible to do as many boxes don't even have the USB activated. .

Can be done with either a Scart lead to a recorder of some sort.

or Via a HDMI adaptor box or take the drive out and access it via a PC with some software.

So the first is the easiest and the others a right pain.

You can watch on various devices if you've got sky, just register your phone/tablet as one of them. Get the password and username from him, then watch it on that.
Or get now tv is a fraction of the price of sky but still has twin peaks (and loads of other shows) . It's 7 quid a month.

As mentioned, get your dad to set up an online Sky account through a sky go app or something on a tablet and you can watch it this way. I think only certain channels are available on the app so you'll need to check and see if the channel your programmers is on is available.

Or just download the series and watch at your leisure on a proper size screen

Default Twin peaks

Ali; how would you do this? I have mastered netflix on my ipad. Not sure my ability goes beyond that. My tech attached to my telly is a ps4.

You download it from where people usually download things, the site has been around since 2003, I'd have thought everyone knew about it . . . I'm speechless. Then burn off a disc for your PS4 or plug your computer into your telly.

Look up bittorrent on Wikipedia and you'll find out all about it.

great in principle but Sky Go would not work on my tablet at all. Reported my device as "rooted" (which it isn't). Apparently a common problem. Also won't work with certain web browsers (Chrome/Firefox). All in all a bag of rubbish to be honest.

Actually i had that problem now i come to think of it, trying to find a browser that works was a bit of a pain. You'd think companies would have that sorted by now, especially a big company like sky.
Which is strange as now tv works great its really easy to use and it's owned by sky
