Default Charity Drive - Lands End to John O'Groats

Good Evening all,

(Could Admin/Mods please delete if not allowed, I understand if it's not.)

Me and a group of around 10 are doing a charity drive from Lands End to John O'Groats as part of the MG Rover Breakfast Group Yorkshire.

We are doing it in our MG Rover vehicles, and I'm driving my Typhoon ZT-T.

We really hope we make it! But most importantly we hope to raise some well deserved cash for a top cause, the Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer's and Dementia claim more lives every year and we must support those living with the disease and those caring for loved ones.

I have set up a JustGiving page accessible here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/robsonfield

Any donation is greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
RoverRobson

Good idea for a good cause. These disease's are over looked by the majority of the population. When were you thinking of this taking place?

I've done this three times on a motorcycle to raise money for charity. Factor in that you will cover the distance twice, nearly 1800 miles to get from base to LE to JoG and back to base.
My last end to end took just over 19hrs.

One of my friends has done it on a quad bike.

My wife and I did it on the motorbike back in 2011 for the Yorkshire air ambulance. Great trip!

Yes the total mileage was around 1800. I guarantee when you arrive at JoG you will want to turn around and drive straight back to Lands end to do it the other way, you won't want it to end.

My wife and I also joined the club ( http://www.lejog.org/ ) obtaining signatures from the hotel at Lands end and the cafe at John o Groats. I would have loved to join in and come with you on this one, but we will be away on holiday.

You can count on our support!

I know somebody who cycled it in a group, took them a week and they raised thousands. Funny enough he caught the train home.
