Seals
Received my set last week many thanks fitted to my 75 on Friday. Old ones had split badly. Really good fit with new ones and fantastic value and most importantly no more leaks!

I'll probably be needing a set of these new seals in the near future. But at present, my concern is how to replace the so-called waist seals that go between the window glass and the cards of the rear doors on our 75s.
I think it was on this forum that I saw how, once the card was removed, that the door rusts seriously below these so-called waist seals. It looks to me like this might be due to some electrolytic action, caused by (acid?) rain seeping down past the glass and into the door, because that seal looks to me like it's made of a different metal to the door... All I can see at the moment is how this waist seal is rippled and distorted toward the rear of the car. But I've gathered one should fear the worst Seems these cars should definitely not be left out in the wind and the rain... Leachim in the S. of France |
