Default Hi-line Sat nav dead - K-bus issue?

Ever since my dad bought the car last year the Hi-line system hasn't worked at all apart from the backlight. After I took possession in Feb I installed a DD unit as a stopgap measure, but I've since decided that I really want it working. After replacing all the units, and talking it over with people at the last Midlands nano meet it seems the fault is possibly a K-bus issue. The problem is I have no idea where to start looking. Can anybody give me some advice on where and hoe to check?

Thanks.

Yes; search for a thread called "K Bus issues" by MGMarc. Read post number 15.
