Default Chipped windscreen

I've had a small chip on the windscreen next to the mirror for a couple of months. Annoying, but nothing to worry about.
On Tuesday night, I went to Tesco. In the carpark was an Autoglass man in a van repairing chips, so I thought why not. He did it. It looked ok.
The next morning, of course, where was once a chip is now a bloomin' great crack, half way down the glass.
All's well that ends well though. Autoglass are coming to my place of work today to fit a new screen, and have waived the excess charge.
I just need to make sure they use the rubber seats at the bottom of the glass, I have read about on here somewhere. More great advice from this great club.
So be careful if you get your windscreen chips repaired. You may get more than you bargained for.
Tom

You need the rubber seats all around the glass not just the bottom!
