Android apps
Managed to get my ERISIN head unit mostly working, but really struggling with the apps on it - can anybody point me at a general source of help on such things?
For example, the home screen navigation app is something called iGo, but its graphics are very sparse – just lines for roads, really, not much else. You’re supposed to be able to download maps, but that option is greyed out. So I fired up Google Maps (also included), and it looked much better, but it always points north – so when I’m driving south, my little blue dot is moving downwards, which is very counter-intuitive. I can’t change it, as there are none of the familiar icons, like Settings or Compass. Do I have cut-down versions of apps or something? Can I upgrade them? Can I change the apps (or are they widgets?) on the home screen (eg to have Google Maps – if I can get it work right – as my default nav amp)? ERISIN support isn't much help, and I haven't been able to find much on the net

You can download every app you want like on a smartphone, every version is the full one. You have to use your phone to get connected with internet, or - as I've done - connect an USB device with a sim card.
As a navigation app IMHO the best one is WAZE and it works brilliantly. Have a look on this thread: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk//fo...317803&page=14 and previous one such as https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk//fo...0&postcount=28 Our friend Sjonnie should be priceless to help you.

I've got Sygic on mine as well as google maps. You can download all the maps with Sygic so you can use it offline but you don't get camera warnings or voice nav with with the free version though.

Thanks for those suggestions, gents
One of my problems is that (although with a background in IT), I'm not at all familiar with Android terminology. Can somebody tell me exactly what a launcher is? I mean, it kind of looks like an entire new user interface... I'm not interested at this stage in changing the appearance of my screen - I just want everything to work properly Main annoyances at the moment are: 1. Although the radio now remembers its stations when powered down, it selects an "empty" frequency 87.50 when I first select it, thus giving me a hiss, and I have to press one of the favourite buttons; 2. It loses its RDS settings when powered down. SO what I'm wondering is... does a new launcher include a new radio app, which would possibly work properly?

I *THINK* I can do it over wifi, by parking my car near my router at home My main problem is understanding then how to replace the apps (or are they widgets? I've never really understood the difference...) on the main screen...

If you 'push and hold' the app icon on the touchscreen you should be able to drag the icon to whatever page you want.

Yeah I know I can do that with every screen except the main one - doesn't work with them, so I suspect they're of a different nature. I've discovered, if I go into the machine's settings, I can change default apps. So I've changed the default nav app from iGo to Google Maps. But the big Nav icon on the main screen doesn't change - it just opens Maps now instead of iGo. Thing is, I don't know if alternative radio apps are even available - I mean, there are loads, but they all seem to be internet radio, not the kind that work with an aerial

Hogweed the Agama launcher is very useful and versatile.
I've followed the very wise suggestion of Sjonnie and I should say he was right. I can put several apps within several categories just from the main screen. It's fab!

Yeah cheers, I'm going to look at things like that... but really, my main problem is with the radio, and I suspect a new launcher will just launch my existing radio app
