Default Garmin 200w wont download the update!!!

As above, I have paid for the lifetime updates with Garmin, but my PC wont-cant recognise the Garmin unit?

First of all it said I needed more space and to add a card, I plugged in a 4 gig card, it then said not enuff room? So I found and 8 gig and plugged that in, it then said it was downloading.... 3 hours later the garmin name on the unit started flashing, so I checked the device manager and it had the yellow asterisk and informed me the unit had not been installed and may not be working!!!!!!

I then tried various ways to get it going, unplugged all other USB leads, tried usb2 and usb3, rebooted, etc, then I got a pop up saying the battery was flat, please return the unit to Garmin for a free fit new one??

So... I bought a dedicated Garmin usb lead, and have sent the unit back for a new battery to be fitted.

What I need to know is, how do I get my PC to "recognise" the unit when I plug it in again??? Anyone know? Thank you.....

It should automatically install the drivers when first plugged in, maybe it was just a faulty one, just like my hoodie...

Well I did include a note asking the techies at Garmin to install the updates for me when they replace the batteries, but I'm not holding my breath! innit..

So I will need to get my PC to install the garmin unit. And up till now, it wont! ..
