If it's resonating through the bulkhead, could it be the hydromount? just a thought that the engine is jumping up and down a touch.

Roverbarmy's reply that narrows it down to pretty much every part forward of the firewall is a bit depressing. In my ZT I replaced the lower mount, which definitely needed doing and the drop links which were probably OK. I am relatively sure it's the lower ball joints or the lower arm bushings which I will replace when funds come available. That may be a while as the concentric slave cylinder is failing now.

Could it be from the inner bulkhead? If so, The only thing I'm aware of that can tap/rattle there is the BCU. It's mounted behind the dash and sometimes 'slips'. But it's nowhere as heavy a sound as a suspension knock.

Do you get the noise more when on a rougher road surface? I had it where the exhaust had dropped just enough to bring the exhaust tunnel cross braces within the normal range of exhaust movement. New rubber mounts and bending the hooks slightly cured it.
