I think cash is still accepted in most of Europe Chris
I've already got my Euros as I suspect the exchange rate may change post brexit.

I found out the hard way last year. Bought £1,000 of euro’s on my credit card. Burnt my fingers didn’t I. Cost me £33 ‘handling fee’ . They never touched the euro’s..... then there was a charge for using my card worked out as if it were a loan. ( Interest on total amount, payable by day). When I phoned them up, I had a shock, I would be charged again the following month. Bl#@&y fiddle. First time and last. We are lucky I suppose in brum, there are quite a few places where I can get Euro’s from with cash, as usual. Once bitten, twice shy. Post office is as good as any..

I will be using M6, M42, M40. Best way from Brum. Bit longer but usually not so many holdups if you hit Bromley M25 area before dinnertime. Refuse to give my money to sit in traffic.
