When Kodak did build DSLR's some years back I believe they used the Canon Eos mount so Canon EF lenses would be compatible

Afraid I was a Minolta man better lens in my opinion I know they were combined with Konica and I think that Sony uses the Konica Minolta mount on their DSLRs I can use my lens via a convertor on my Nikon but only in manual of course which might not be to everyone's liking these days even did my own black and white printing ah those were the days

I have a couple of Sony cameras as well, yes, Minolta mount , old Minolta lenses are quite cheap to pick up so I think Sony DSLRs are great

Any name brand Compact will more than suffice for what you want to use it for!

Just get the best you can afford and aim for a absolute minimum 5X Optical (not digital) zoom!

Already have one Mark, which is why I am wanting to upgrade, the compact doesn't give as good a quality now. As previously said in the thread,I am borrowing a camera from Ronnie, with the option to buy if I like it,so for the time being, with due respect to you all,can you hang fire with more suggestions until I have tried Ronnie's camera, thanks for the input and advice though
