Stage 11 - Brighton to Birmingham - 185 miles - 4.2 hours 9.00 pm - 1.00 am (22nd)
2230 miles - 55 hours = 40mph average speed

Having written this down, I'm getting very nervous.
Some very unsocialble hours - especially for Devon and Cornwall and Scotland. Plus I was hoping to get the time down to 48 hours, so this may well influence Stage route plans.
Not much can be done in Wales... Round the edge, as proposed or up the English/Welsh Border thereby defeating the objective Average speeds in stage 4 should be a lot higher than 40mph

Good point, the 40 mph average was based on the comments in the thread you pointed me to regarding the MG rally and specific requirements relating to speeds on and off motorways.

I've erred on the side of caution. Realistically I expect the relay to take less time overall than I've identified, but I don't want anyone to feel that they are under pressure to get their bit done in a specific time.

Default RBR Stage 4

Andrew,

can I suggest that I meet up with Mike123 at the Magor services on the Welsh side of the bridge as it is the only place that we can both get access to from the motorway.

Default Need Help

OK guys, Need some help here..

I've tried using AutoRoute to give me estimated times for each leg, but it comes up with an answer which I figure is about 2-3 hours over what it should take us.

So as you are better placed to work this out....

Could you please give me an estimate of what you reckon how long your legs should take?

Please copy and paste the following in toto, and add your times in here:-

Mike123 Bristol to Magor Services

tenerifemike Magor Services to Junction 33 Cardiff

48rov06 Junction 33 Cardiff to Swansea

eurorover Swansea to Carmarthen

thorfrun Carmarthen to Haverfordwest

Haxx Haverfordwest to Eglwyswrw (via Fishguard)

Dragrad Eglwyswrw to Aberystwyth 1 hour
