Default Scottish All Rover Rally 2008

The committee organising the 2008 Scottish All Rover Rally will have it's first meeting on August 28, and would welcome the inclusion of someone who would represent the 75 & ZT Owners Club.

It would be possible to arrange that the OC could have it's own display area within the main show arena, and in effect hold a Scottish Regional Rally under the umbrella of the SARR.

If any member is willing to help with the organising of the event, please contact me off list at
[email protected]

before Friday 24th August, and I will then send details of the time / place of the meeting, which will be in the Stirling area.

Is the anticipated date next summer? I'll be near Stirling in June 08 and would love to attend - but of course can't just pop down the road at any other time of the year!

Default Scottish All Rover Rally 2008

The SARR is held on the Saturday & Sunday of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, so for 2008 that will be 24 & 25 May.

The venue for 2008 is yet to be decided, possible options are for another year at the Vintage Bus Museum, or Thirlestane Castle (near Lauder in the Borders), or another as yet unconfirmed location in Central or West Scotland.

Anyone got any other suggestions for a venue? It would need to have display space for around 100 cars, toilet and catering facilities for 250 people, and have something for the non Car lover to see (a castle / stately home / museum or similar). Easy access from main population centres would be a bonus.

Default Scottish Rally 2008

Further to earlier posting, the Scottish All Rover Rally 2008 is to be held at Thirlstane Castle, near Lauder in the Scottish Borders. Only half an hour south of Edinburgh on the A68, this could be an ideal rally for you Northern 75 & ZT owners to attend.

No passports required, English money accepted!

Dates are Saturday 24 May for road tour and social evening, Sunday 25 May for static show at the castle.

Still looking for a 75&ZT representative for the SARR committee if anyone interested. Contact me off list at [email protected], next meeting on 16 October.

Default Scottish All Rover Rally 2008

May I remind members that the deadline for advance entry submission for the Scottish All Rover Rally is 1 May, late entrants will NOT qualify for free admission to the Castle grounds.

Due to an unprecedented level of demand, the rally dinner on Saturday evening is now fully subscribed, and NO further bookings can be accepted, the room capacity has been reached and cannot be increased. Sorry to disappoint those still undecided, but we have to respect the restrictions of the venue.

We can still accept entrants for the Saturday road run and, of course, the Sunday static show.
